I give credit to ZachR, whether you agree with the definition and the cars listed in his post !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! he has certainly gotten a lot of people thinking about sports cars today, myself included.

In the past couple of months I have seen 2 Jalop-worthy lust objects arrive on my screen and frankly, I'd love to hear your pick between them.
First up, the next gen MX-5. You loved it's predecessors, sometimes awkwardly, sometimes physically, but always honestly. In return for your love and a small amount of cash you get something fun, spritely, reliable, liveable and economical; the newest version appears to be more of the same but BETTER. It is not a track monster per say, but you know what you are getting. And, if you don't, go !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and educate yourself.
The newcomer is an unknown property...
For one, it is missing a wheel. For two, it looks mad about said missing wheel. It is going to be fast (more HP and less weight than the Miata) but handling will be...interesting. Additional information over !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I was thinking of these as more of just a second car for fun...

The Miata was developed side by side with what will either be a new Alfa Romeo or most likely now an Abarth. I think it'll be prettier than the Miata.

Oh, the new one. I'm pretty sure the internal plans for that got nixed (?).

Really? That's a pity, I hope not. I'd have very much liked the Abarth sensibilities unleashed on the Miata. I'd still have to go MX-5 I think. If it were an X-Bow it'd obviously be different.
Last I heard on the potential Abarth was this:
